Higher education has obvious benefits for the individual engaged in learning, but also for the Commonwealth of Virginia. By promoting access to higher education, VirginiaCAN member organizations improve the lives of individual Virginians and the Commonwealth as a whole.

 

In 2005, the Institute for Higher Education Policy prepared a report titled. The Investment Payoff – A 50-State Analysis of the Public and Private Benefits of Higher Education.
